I'm a guy with very short hair and I don't care if it ruins it. But I want to bleach it completely white. Can I use peroxide for this? What would I have to do, for example should I just use straight peroxide? How long should it sit on my hair before rinsing?

Here's what I did. I went there and got what's called "Kalidacolors" (bleach) I got one packet of blue and one of purple. Those two colors mixed makes your hair white, not gold or yellowish. Then get some developer, the higher the number the better. I have 40. This will all cost you about 10 bucks, but if you use only enough that you need, you should have enough to do it again a few times in the future. So anyways, mix the purple and blue packet (each same amount) with some developer, just enough to make a paste that isn't too dry or too runny. Apply to hair (try to avoid getting on the scalp if possible, this stuff is potent and can burn or even cause burns that look rather icky till they heal) Then wrap your head in a plastic bag, and blow dry. The kalidacolors says to do it for 10 minutes, I did it for 20) After that, wash out. YOur hair should be white. If it isn't exactly white, redo the procedure a second time. Then your hair WILL be white.

Uh no peroxide is not going to bleach your hair white. Bleach will do it and depending on your natural hair color now you could use 40 volume peroxide(the kind for hair color) and bleach and that will lift it up pretty light.

No, go to your local beauty supply and buy a bleach packet and a small bottle of 40 vol. developer, around 5 bucks for everything. Make sure the bleach is an "on the scalp" bleach and keep it on till its white, but if your hairs kinda dark it may take a long time and stop at an orange gold color

Peroxide will make your hair fall out. Unless you were going for bald, i do not suggest it. Get a box of bleach kit. I recommend, hell i don't remember what it's called. it's got this guy w/ really short almost white blonde hair on it and its in a blue and white box... it's like beach blonde, or blonde something. damn, i'm really no help. sorry.
