actually i think it's pretty common. i've seen some in my hair when i was a teenager. and i've seen other young people our age with white hair as well. it's probably due to stress or something.

I started going grey in my early 20s, too. Some people don't go grey until their 60s. It depends on the genes. Time to get out the dye and have fun.

it doesnt mean you are weird at all. i went to high school with a kid who had salt and pepper hair. (more salt than pepper) some people just go white sooner than others. btw, his father was totally white, also. genetics plays a big part.

sometimes it's caused by a trauma to ur head...anyone pulling ur hair lately :-) it's not weird to get whites...just dont pull them out because u will get more in it's place. cut it down and relax, chill and destress. If that doesn't work go to ur local salon and ask for highlites

Everyone's different. The faste your hair grows, the more likely it is that your hair will go white/gray at a younger age. One of my aunts started going gray at 11 years old, and one of my good guy friends starting going gray in high school.

My husbands sister's hair started turning white when she was 16. I'm a person who has a very few white hairs (at both temples in 'streaks') but has basically brown hair. I'm 57 ... my husband is only 50 and has totally grey hair and a totally white beard ... so he looks OLDER than I do. But no, it's not weird to have a white hair at 21 ... you probably just come from a family (mother's side) that has earlier white hair, while I come from a 'later turning' hair family.

its not wierd. it is just you. my uncle was compleatly gray by 35 but my dad is now 59 and has little gray hair. i had my first gray hair in the 7th grade!!

No it isn't. I know some people at my highschool that have white hairs. According to them and my observation, you get more white hairs or earlier if you are under a lot of stress.

Your hair is turing white earlier than most people. I went to school with a guy who's hair turned white in 9th grade. Just because it is uncommon, I would not call it "weird".

Now that I'm re-reading it, you're talking about one white hair? One? You're probably going to pick up about 1-5 a year from now on, and then one day, boom, the rest of them will all turn on you. One is nothing to worry about.

My classmate went completely white in 9th grade. There is a genetic (skin?) condition that can predispose you to turn white early. Vitamines and not exposing yourself to sunlight can, I think, delay to onset some, but not by much (not generally worth one's while).

i found my first white hairs at age 16. people sitting behind me in high school used to be like "omg! dude, you have gray hair!" it never bothered me because i only had a few. The number grew slowly over the years. by the time i was 30 i had enough that you could notice with out looking too hard, (maybe 5%). The number increased steadily during my 30s. I'm 40 now and probably like 75% gray. I still don't mind it though. In fact, I have always kind of enjoyed having a white hairs. Its way better than going bald - i still have just as much hair as i ever did!

no, not weird. let nature run its course. you might like it when it all turns white. if not then dye it. but give it a chance. some people look better with a change then like they were.
