Hair dye --- will it turn my hair WHITE!?

if i dye parts of my hair light red or auburn or purple, when it wears out, will it be white???

Well not unless its already white to start with. You didn't indicate what color your natural color is, and if there is a color currently on it.

It shouldn't tho. Depends on what's already on the hair..... or what color it currently is.

Being a natural red head myself, coloring with reds or auburn's,,,,, don't really show up well, but now that I have red/grey hair,,,,, it sure does...and when it fades off, it just shows my gray hair very well..... so I've left it alone.

Being the hairdresser I am, I would do a simple strand test of your hair first. To do this just:

1) Snip a piece of your hair off from behind one of your ears.

2) Scotch Tape one end,

3) Take taped end, and place on some saran wrap, or tin foil, (whatever one you have)....

4) Mix a tiny amt. of color in a plastic dish or sm cereal bowl.

5) Place color on your hair swatch..... follow manufacturer's directions as to time ect...... rinse..... blow it dry,,,,,,

See if it matches what you want to achieve, or comes close to the color your after.

If not, take that sample of your hair, and the product you used, to your favorite stylist,,,,show him/her, what you did, and the outcome of it.....see if they have any advice for you, before you proceed on.....
